Land Observation Satellite Monitoring of the Tieling Fire in Pakistan and LiaoningPublishDate:2022-07-25
Recently, forest fires causing casualties and property losses, occurred successively in Mount Sulaiman, Sharani District, Balochistan Province, in southwestern Pakistan, and Xiaohongshi Village, Pingdingbao Town, Tieling City, Liaoning Province.
After receiving the demand on May 24, the China Resources Satellite Application Center affiliated to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation immediately activated the emergency response mechanism for major natural disasters, and urgently carried out satellite transit prediction, measurement and control resource coordination and imaging instruction revision. During the epidemic period, Gaofen-4, Gaofen-6, and Environmental Disaster Mitigation-2B satellite were arranged to observe the disaster area 3 times on the 24th, and Gaofen-4, Gaofen-102, and Gaofen-1 were arranged. The 03 satellite and the Gaofen-1 04 satellite observed the disaster area 7 times from the 25th to the 26th.
Up to now, 12 scenes of effective data in the disaster area have been obtained, and 1 scene of historical data has been shared, which is immediately provided to the National Disaster Reduction Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management, the National Defense Science and Industry Administration High Score Special Major Project Center and the Forest Fire Prevention Early Warning and Monitoring Information Center for disaster relief and post-disaster assessment to provide strong support.
